Alocasia Melo

Common name/s: Melo, Rugosa

Alocasia melo

This rare Alocasia features stunningly textured leaves. The thick, greenish-blue foliage has distinctive Braille-like grooves and ridges throughout. Native to Borneo, this species has been in cultivation for several decades but only formally described in its natural environment in 1997. Like all Alocasia it is susceptible to overwatering, especially in the cooler months. Also like other Alocasia, it can enter dormancy if temperatures are consistently below 15°C. Keep in a warm position with plenty of bright indirect light for best results.
