We could spout on endlessly about the benefits of providing a humid environment for your plants 💦 What better way to do this than with these stylish Tusa Plant Misters? 🌱

Why increase humidity?

Many indoor plants are native to tropical rainforests where humidity is high. In Australia, household humidity levels are far below optimal, so we need to provide a little additional help! One way to achieve temporary increased humidity is through misting. The ultra fine spray from the Tusa Plant Mister raises the humidity levels around plants, especially in dry indoor environments, without saturating the plant's leaves. If you don't want to run an electric humidifier, the Tusa is a great way to achieve similar results.

What other benefits and uses does misting provide?

Leaf Cleaning: Misting helps dislodge dust and dirt from plant leaves, improving their appearance and allowing them to absorb more light for photosynthesis.

Pest Deterrent: Regular misting can help prevent and combat some pests, such as spider mites, by making their environment less hospitable.

Terrariums: The closed environment of a terrarium particularly benefits from a spritz from a mister. Plants in a terrarium with thrive with the incresed humidity.

Corms and Propagation: Many growers like to use a mister to wet the growing media when growing corms and propagating in a closed environment. This avoids saturating the media and allows greater control over moisture levels.

Which plants most benefit from misting?

Many aroids, including the philodendron and monstera varieties. These plants originate from humid, tropical environments where the air moisture is naturally high.

Tropical plants, like ferns and orchids. These plants naturally grow in humid environments, and misting can replicate these conditions, promoting their health and growth.

Are there plants that don't need misting?

Succulents are drought-tolerant plants that thrive in dry environments and do not require misting. They enjoy dry, low humidity. Also, avoid spraying, misting, or washing hairy-leaved plants like the African Violet, because water on the crown can cause rot.
